Information

Contains front and rear housing, 2.5 Hp impeller, o-ring, seal and screws. Comes fully assembled.

Note: We use only a Viton Seal on our Wet ends for long life. The viton seal is designed for harsh chemical environments such as salt, ozone and chemically treated water. These seals are more costly than a standard seal used by most of our competitors.

Important: For 48 Frame, thru-bolt motors only! Cannot be used on a 56 Frame motors!

Only used on a 48 Frame Pump (NOT 56 FRAME) which Sundance used from 1999-2005. Can be used on all 48 frame pumps used on Sundance Spas that have a 3-5/8 inch bolt pattern.

These new wet ends have eight legs instead of the older four leg design to attach the 4 bolts to the motor. Only 4 of the legs are used. The Wet end is turned so the discharge is in the position needed. The wet end is attached to the motor Using the motor's thru-bolts. The thru bolts are spaced at 3-5/8 inch, make sure that is the bolt pattern on your motor.

If your pump's ID plate says 56 Frame please read the information given on this page.

Determining if your motor is a 48 Frame or 56 Frame Motor

The spa and pool industry use various "Frame" sizes to mount their wet ends to a pump. A bracket-mount motor has a welded base for mounting. These motors can be either a 48 or 56 Frame. Other types of motors such as the "C" Frame or "Round Face" and the "Square Flange" are all 56 Frame motors.

There are several ways to figure out the Frame size of your pump. One is to look at the spec sheet where it says Frame (FR) it might have some letters with it but will have 48 or 56 as the frame size.

Another method is to measure the thru bolts (the 4 bolts that run thru the length of the motor and screw onto the wet end or volute of the pump). Measure the distance between the thru bolts. DO NOT measure diagonally but from one bolt to the next bolt.

  • 48 Frame distance between bolts is 3-5/8 inch
  • 56 Frame distance between bolts is 4-1/8 inch

NOTE: Sundance Spas used a 56 Frame motor in 1997-98 that measures 4 inch and another that measures 4-1/8 inch. You must measure to determine which one you have.

Because terminology varies between manufactures this is the best way to tell the Frame size.

How to Determine Spa Plumbing Size

Pump plumbing sizes are nominal, and not the outside diameter (OD) of the threaded intake and/or discharge. Use a tape measure and check your old pump thread size against the following sizing table

Plumbing Size Pump Thread OD (approx.)
1.5" 2-3/8"
2.0" 3"
2.5" 3-5/8"
